Posted 8/9/2017

The Advisory Council for Aviation Research and Innovation in Europe (ACARE) introduced its most recent version of their Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) . The revised guidelines will be followed until 2050 to implement and monitor research on low-carbon, quiet and safe aviation-of-the-future.
The newly updated SRIA research agenda reflects ambitious European goals in aviation, which were already named by the European Commission under the title 'Flightpath 2050' anno 2011). These goals amongst others described the reduction of noise and carbon dioxide emissions through aviation by 65 percent and 75 percent respectively. Simultaneously the Council aimes at growth for the whole aviation sector.

ACARE : "Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research in Europe (ACARE) to develop and maintain a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) that helps achieve the goals of Vision 2020. ACARE was launched at the Paris Air Show in June 2001 and attracted over 40 member organisations and associations including representation from the Member States, the European Commission and stakeholders: manufacturing industry, airlines, airports, service providers, regulators, research establishments and academia."
